| << Back to Page 1 MENToring Program Update: Time to celebrate! By Paul C. Hayes, PMP, VP Membership The first year of the WMPMI Mentorship Program will soon conclude as participants close their personal development projects and file for PDU awards. The time is coming to celebrate project successes and provide participants with the opportunity to have some fun after all their hard work! Keep an eye open for your invitation from the Mentor Committee. What hard work have these 32 first year pioneers accomplished? Well, they have or will complete 15 personal development projects. The four member small focus group has finished exploring the concept of 360° Leadership as it pertains to its individual members and respective issues in their companies. Fourteen mentor-mentee teams are finishing up on projects with a customized scope, defined by the mentee and assisted by the mentor. All will earn PDU awards for progressing through the activities of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing their respective projects. As part of the closing process, participants file lessons learned for utilization by our organization to improve the Mentorship Program in future years and to increase its value to all members interested in participation. Thank you to all of our first year participants. Where is the program heading next? That depends on the needs of our membership and the advice of our participants. It is full steam ahead in 2010-11 with growth and refinement to be determined. Interested in learning more about how you can "set sail" with us next year? Watch for more information at upcoming monthly dinner meetings and the WMPMI website. Can you offer some inputs or thoughts for consideration? Send your advice to VPMembership@wmpmi.org. |
