Track 1 (Full Day) - Leadership: Behaviors & Emotional Intelligence

This interactive and life-changing workshop will be presented by keynote speaker Dr. Rick Forbus. Structured around the internationally recognized nine core competencies of great leaders, the agenda includes high-action involvement by participants, using media, hands-on activities, case studies, homework and fun. The workshop experience includes a group coaching session built around the findings of Trove Inc.'s ACL assessment tool.

Dr. Rick Forbus holds a PhD in Human Relations and Leadership. He studied executive coaching with one of the coaches from the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina, and attended George Washington University Business School Extension. Dr. Forbus has taught leadership and teamwork at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business in partnership with UGA faculty. He has been an executive coach with Trove, Inc. since 2006.

Track 2 (2 half days) - Session 2A - Unleashing the Power of Our Differences

Successfully managed projects consist of teams that communicate well, value the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of its members, and are adaptable to changes in the workplace. Unleashing the Power of our Differences, is an interactive session that will help you work more effectively with those you lead, customers you serve, and suppliers with whom you partner.

This session will be presented by Wayne and Cindy Shabaz, who co-founded CDAWN Learning in 1977. CDAWN provides consulting services, workshops and e-Learning tools that enable companies to understand, communicate, and work in a culturally different and changing world. Wayne Shabaz graduated with honors from Purdue University. Cindy Shabaz graduated with honors from Evangel University. They have lived and worked in the U.S., Iran and Germany, serving clients worldwide.

Track 2 (2 half days) - Session 2B - Leading and Managing a Project Team using Influence Skills

You have got the credentials, but now you need the respect and cooperation of the project team. Project managers must have influence and negotiation skills in addition to technical and functional expertise. This class will provide tips and techniques on how to influence people and grow in emotional intelligence.

This session will be presented by Dean Harbry. Dean is credentialed as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation and is best known for his executive coaching competencies. Dean brings a long history of visionary leadership and managerial leadership coaching with individuals from banking, finance, technology, manufacturing, media and sales. He has also worked extensively in project management at the Bank of Ireland, and, Ronald Blue & Co, a financial advisory firm located in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a dedicated marathon runner, completing over 20 marathons to date, and is completing his PhD in Professional Coaching and Human Development at International University of Professional Studies.
