Why should you volunteer? Volunteering provides you with many wonderful opportunities. Among them are the opportunities for leadership, teaching, learning, earning PDUs, making and honoring commitments, networking, receiving recognition, having fun and/or making new friends.

Team Leader, Outreach Business Development

Description: The Outreach Program is a new strategic initiative of the WMPMI Chapter intended to establish strategies and processes for collaborating with external organizations, groups and individuals on joint activities that advance the project management profession and enhance an organization’s capabilities to drive innovation, improve bottom line performance and strengthen competitive advantage. The Program will explore and develop mutually beneficial relationships with business, non-profit, educational and other interest groups.

The Team Leader will support and work closely with the Director, Member Development and the VP, Membership to: (1) cultivate high value relationships through planned collaboration; (2) promote marketing plans to organization decision makers and key influencers; and (3) negotiate formal or informal partnering arrangements supported by the WMPMI Board of Directors.

Skills Required:
- Strategic account management
- Relationship management
- Sales prospecting and closing skills
- Demonstrable experience; preference for 3 years direct experience
- Preference for experienced PMP

Time Commitment: June 2010 - June 2011 (expect average of 5 hrs per month)
